The compressor offered is compatible with all Range Rover Sport L320 models built from 2005 to 2010 or with chassis numbers from 5A900302 to 9A215622. The original compressor was built by Hitachi, and our Aerosus compressor replaces it at OEM quality. In 2010, from VIN: 9A215622, the compressor supplier was changed from Hitachi to AMK. This compressor is also to be found in our shop, Aerosus article number: 163601. The AMK compressor can be installed in vehicles with years of production from 2005 to 2010 after an update.
Due to the great similarity of the vehicle platforms, the offered compressor is compatible with the air suspension of both the Land Rover Sport and Land Rover Discovery 3 and 4. For a plug & play installation of your new compressor, you’ll get the necessary relay with the delivery. It must also be exchanged when installing a new compressor. The relay can be found in the fuse box of the vehicle, at the front left side. The compressor is located on the left side under the vehicle, at the height of the rear door.
The Range Rover Sport L320 is an off-road vehicle of the British car manufacturer Land Rover. It has been in production since 2005 and its first generation was based on the Land Rover Discovery platform. Its high level of ride comfort is achieved primarily by the standard air suspension with level control.
The Function of the Compressor
The compressor has the task of supplying the air suspension as well as the level control with the needed compressed air. The Aerosus compressor essentially consists of three components: a pressure housing, which is used for air compression, an electric motor, which provides the power drive, and an air dryer unit. It dries the moist ambient air and then leads it to the air suspension system.
Compressor Malfunction? Instructions for Correct Installation
As a rule, compressors are considered trouble-free; however, if the level control is faulty and you need to repair or even replace the compressor, the cause of the problem will most likely be elsewhere. The most common reasons for a malfunction are leaks in the air suspension or a defective compressor relay. Therefore, after removing the defective component, we recommend a thorough check of the air suspension for leaks and the exchange of the relay prior to the installation of our compressor.
If a bellow is leaking, the vehicle lowers. A continuous operation in such case ensures that the compressor overheats and suffers a defect. Trustworthy indications that the compressor has failed and you need to install a new one are an error message on the display or the fact that the compressor is working too loud. If a vehicle lowers overnight on the rear axle and then stands crooked, this also indicates a defect. For the best possible results, you should leave the installation or assembly of our products to trained professionals.
Advantages of a Compressor by Aerosus
